Overview

Provides protocol, liaison and administrative support to UNSOH leadership and visiting delegations, arranging official meetings and ceremonies, coordinating visas and travel formalities, supporting personnel rotations, and maintaining diplomatic contacts, cables, archives and document databases

Responsibilities

  • Arrange official meetings, ceremonies and protocol support for mission leaders and delegations
  • Prepare and follow up visa requests for mission, force, visitor and delegation personnel
  • Liaise with host-government authorities, other governments and the diplomatic community
  • Coordinate airport access, immigration formalities and travel logistics for senior officials
  • Prepare venues, seating plans and logistical arrangements for official events
  • Support troop and police rotations and repatriations with transport and movement-control teams
  • Manage official cables, mail, pouch services, archives, transaction records and diplomatic contact lists

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least eight years of experience in protocol, diplomacy, coordination, administration, travel assistance, information management or a related field
  • Experience supporting or coordinating high-level visits by a senior public official
  • English at UN Level III in reading, writing, listening and speaking
  • Spanish at UN Level III in reading, writing, listening and speaking
  • Applicants for Field Service positions cannot be nationals of the duty-station country
