Responsibilities

  • Lead monitoring of human rights and international humanitarian law compliance
  • Coordinate collection and quality control of evidence-based human-rights information
  • Develop recommendations and mitigation strategies under the Human Rights Due Diligence Policy
  • Lead investigations into alleged human-rights and humanitarian-law violations
  • Advise authorities and UN partners on protection and accountability
  • Design and deliver human-rights training and capacity-building programmes
  • Coordinate unit planning and supervise junior staff

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in law, political science, international relations, social sciences or a related field, or a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
  • Minimum seven years of progressively responsible human-rights or related experience
  • Minimum five years of human-rights monitoring and reporting experience
  • Experience in human-rights advocacy, capacity-building programme management or human-rights investigations
  • Minimum three years in a UN field operation working directly with the Human Rights Due Diligence Policy
  • Required UN Level III proficiency in English and French
