Responsibilities
- Lead monitoring of human rights and international humanitarian law compliance
- Coordinate collection and quality control of evidence-based human-rights information
- Develop recommendations and mitigation strategies under the Human Rights Due Diligence Policy
- Lead investigations into alleged human-rights and humanitarian-law violations
- Advise authorities and UN partners on protection and accountability
- Design and deliver human-rights training and capacity-building programmes
- Coordinate unit planning and supervise junior staff
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in law, political science, international relations, social sciences or a related field, or a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
- Minimum seven years of progressively responsible human-rights or related experience
- Minimum five years of human-rights monitoring and reporting experience
- Experience in human-rights advocacy, capacity-building programme management or human-rights investigations
- Minimum three years in a UN field operation working directly with the Human Rights Due Diligence Policy
- Required UN Level III proficiency in English and French
