Responsibilities

  • Research, collect and analyse information on human rights, humanitarian law and criminal law matters
  • Conduct investigations and interviews with victims and witnesses to corroborate allegations
  • Monitor trends and patterns of violations relevant to the mandate
  • Use monitoring, mapping, open-source and satellite material to support incident geolocation and authenticity assessment
  • Identify alleged perpetrators using agreed information-gathering methods
  • Protect, store and preserve investigation information under mission procedures
  • Draft analytical documents, gender analysis and report sections
  • Integrate gender-sensitive approaches throughout investigation, analysis and reporting

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in law, political science, international relations, social sciences or a related field, or first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
  • At least five years of progressively responsible work experience in human rights
  • At least two years of experience carrying out investigations of violations of international human rights law or international criminal law
  • English is required
