Responsibilities
- Research, collect and analyse information on human rights, humanitarian law and criminal law matters
- Conduct investigations and interviews with victims and witnesses to corroborate allegations
- Monitor trends and patterns of violations relevant to the mandate
- Use monitoring, mapping, open-source and satellite material to support incident geolocation and authenticity assessment
- Identify alleged perpetrators using agreed information-gathering methods
- Protect, store and preserve investigation information under mission procedures
- Draft analytical documents, gender analysis and report sections
- Integrate gender-sensitive approaches throughout investigation, analysis and reporting
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in law, political science, international relations, social sciences or a related field, or first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
- At least five years of progressively responsible work experience in human rights
- At least two years of experience carrying out investigations of violations of international human rights law or international criminal law
- English is required
