Project Specialist – Prevention (Child Safeguarding)

Leads child-safeguarding and prevention support for an IOM counter-trafficking project in Hungary. The specialist quality-assures activities involving minors, trains frontline stakeholders, strengthens referral and coordination mechanisms, reviews campaign content and documents delivery risks, evidence and donor results.

• Plan and monitor prevention, child-safeguarding and awareness activities under the project workplan
• Lead safeguarding quality assurance for all project activities involving children and adolescents
• Review prevention methods, session plans, campaign content and training materials for safe and age-appropriate delivery
• Identify safeguarding risks and strengthen consent, referral, confidentiality and supervision arrangements
• Facilitate prevention sessions and structured engagement with children, caregivers and frontline professionals
• Establish regional counter-trafficking coordination mechanisms and local cooperation pathways
• Design and deliver training for child-protection, justice, health, education and community stakeholders
• Collect monitoring evidence, document risks and prepare technical and donor reports

• High school diploma with four years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, education, child protection, human rights, social sciences, international relations, migration studies, law, criminology, public policy or a related field with two years of relevant experience
• At least two years of relevant experience in child protection, safeguarding, education, youth work, counter-trafficking, prevention, social services, community outreach or victim assistance
• Experience supporting prevention, awareness, training, community engagement or stakeholder coordination
• Experience working with children, adolescents, families, vulnerable groups or frontline professionals
• Experience facilitating workshops, presentations, trainings or community activities
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Hungarian
• Valid residence and work permit for Hungary
