Responsibilities

  • Ensure delivery of quality basic education services and provide technical supervision to school principals and deputy principals
  • Manage the performance and conduct of school principals and deputy principals against agreed standards and goals
  • Maintain relationships with community leaders, NGOs, government institutions and other relevant organisations
  • Coordinate remedial teaching, psychosocial counselling, medical referrals and special-needs support for students
  • Oversee administration of school staff, students, premises, equipment and supplies in accordance with UNRWA guidelines
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

  • Internal UNRWA candidate
  • University degree in social work, sociology, psychology, social anthropology, guidance and counselling or a related field
  • Training in action-oriented social research and participation in at least two research projects
  • At least five years of relevant experience in relief services or social development programmes
  • At least three years of supervisory or management experience
  • English at UN Level II and Arabic at UN Level III
  • Residence in the West Bank or Jerusalem within commuting distance of Ramallah and authorisation to work at the duty station
