Responsibilities
- Conduct desk reviews and home visits to assess refugee eligibility for social transfers
- Collect socioeconomic data and periodically reassess active assistance cases
- Maintain family records, database entries and social-study reports
- Refer refugees facing protection risks or needing additional social-work support
- Recommend emergency cash or in-kind assistance following crisis assessments
- Follow delivery and collection of approved assistance to eligible families
- Participate in refugee-community surveys and socioeconomic studies
Requirements
- University degree in social work, sociology, psychology, guidance and counselling, social anthropology or a related field
- At least three years of relevant experience providing social work, psychosocial support or counselling in development or humanitarian programmes
- English and Arabic at UN Level II
- Residency in Syria within commuting distance of the duty station with authorisation to work there
- Willingness and ability to drive an Agency vehicle for field travel
