School Principal

Leads an UNRWA school’s inclusive education, staff development and operational management. The principal supervises teaching performance, maintains a safe learning environment, manages enrolment, records, budgets and resources, and engages parents and communities in monitoring educational quality.

Department: Education Programme, West Bank Field Office

• Lead school-based professional development and assess staff training needs
• Supervise and manage teaching staff performance
• Manage delivery of inclusive education for all students
• Engage parents and communities in monitoring educational quality
• Oversee pupil registration, records and education data entry
• Manage school budgets, finances and resources under UNRWA procedures
• Maintain an inclusive, safe and effective learning environment
• Lead pupil assessment and school monitoring practices

• University degree in a school-related subject plus at least one year of professional teacher training, or a university degree plus a higher diploma or advanced degree in education
• At least seven years of progressively responsible satisfactory teaching experience
• UN Language Framework Level II reading, writing, listening and speaking in English and Arabic
• Current UNRWA internal candidate status
• Residence in the West Bank or Jerusalem within commuting distance and authorisation to work at the duty station

• Four fixed-term vacancies are available
• One-year appointment includes a one-year probation period and may be extended
• Monthly basic salary is USD 1,592.60, payable in Jordanian dinars
