Overview

Advises METAC member countries on banking and non-bank regulation and supervision, delivering technical assistance, evaluating compliance with Basel and other standards, strengthening licensing and risk-based supervision, training national authorities and managing regional workplans and budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver financial-sector regulatory and supervisory assistance across METAC countries
  • Assess banking and non-bank supervisory frameworks against Basel and international standards
  • Recommend legislative, regulatory and operational reforms
  • Support implementation of risk-based, consolidated and cross-border supervision
  • Coordinate short-term experts and prepare mission documents for IMF review
  • Train supervisors through workshops, seminars and on-the-job support
  • Lead annual programme planning, budgeting, results management and reporting

Requirements

  • Degree in economics, finance, accounting or a related field
  • At least seven years of experience in a financial-sector supervisory agency
  • Deep understanding of international banking-regulation and supervision standards and their national or international implementation
  • Strong written and spoken English and either French or Arabic
  • Ability to work with senior policymakers, donors and teams of senior experts
