Overview

Supports development, financing and monitoring of UNRWA projects by preparing proposals, coordinating implementation and reporting, tracking expenditure and compiling progress data. The role works with programme, finance and operational teams, supports donor visits and helps redirect unspent project funds.

Responsibilities

  • Identify project needs, draft proposals and maintain the field project master list
  • Coordinate project implementation with programme and operational departments
  • Prepare project proposals, progress reports and final reports with relevant teams
  • Monitor project expenditure and coordinate financial oversight with finance colleagues
  • Develop options for using remaining funds after project completion
  • Compile implementation data for monthly monitoring reports
  • Support donor visits and follow up implementation delays or constraints

Requirements

  • University degree in project management, economics, development studies, business administration or a related field
  • At least three years of relevant experience in project development and project management
  • Strong experience with MS Excel
  • English at UN Level II
  • Current UNRWA internal-candidate status
  • Residency in the West Bank or Jerusalem within commuting distance of the duty station with work authorisation

Additional info

  • Fixed-term appointment for one year with possible extension subject to funding, performance and need
  • Monthly basic salary: USD 1,410.70, payable in Jordanian dinars at the UN exchange rate
  • Provident Fund contribution, medical insurance, annual leave and eligible dependency allowances are provided
