Medical Officer for Project Management and Resource Mobilisation

Supports PAHO health projects in Bolivia through planning, monitoring and resource mobilisation for noncommunicable diseases and essential services. The assignment tracks medicine procurement and distribution, analyses clinical and logistics data, and coordinates health authorities, donors and UN partners.

Department: Noncommunicable Diseases and Mental Health

• Plan, monitor and close health projects addressing noncommunicable diseases and continuity of essential services
• Develop workplans, schedules, risk matrices and project-monitoring instruments
• Prepare concept notes, project proposals, narrative budgets and technical reports for resource mobilisation
• Validate medicines, supplies, quantities and technical specifications with health institutions
• Track acquisition, distribution and delivery of essential medicines against agreed schedules
• Coordinate technical work with health authorities, departmental services, UN agencies and cooperation partners
• Consolidate technical, programme, logistics and financial indicators into reports for PAHO, donors and partners

• Medical degree or equivalent with current professional registration valid in Bolivia
• At least five years of professional experience
• Professional experience managing public-health projects, preferably involving noncommunicable diseases, essential services, medicines or health-system strengthening
• Experience in operational planning, institutional coordination, indicator tracking, document management and technical reporting
• Knowledge of the Bolivian health system and coordination mechanisms with health authorities and facilities
• Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Artificial-intelligence tool proficiency
• Spanish is required

• National UN Volunteer assignment based in La Paz with official travel within Bolivia
• Monthly allowance: BOB 7,403; entry allowance: USD 350; completion allowance: BOB 822 per month of service
• May be subject to vaccination requirements under host-entity policy
