Job Description
The Project Associate supports IOM Indonesia’s Immigration and Border Governance programme in Jakarta through project coordination, partner liaison, community outreach and capacity building. The role monitors delivery, prepares workplans and donor reports, maintains project records, and works with authorities, UN agencies, civil society and other border-governance stakeholders.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Liaise with Immigration and Border Governance partners, beneficiaries, government ministries and civil-society stakeholders at national and local levels
- Coordinate project meetings, community outreach, capacity-building initiatives and development of project materials and tools
- Monitor day-to-day project, operational and administrative activities under IOM rules and procedures
- Draft workplans, concept notes, terms of reference, activity reports and workshop reports
- Prepare correspondence, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations and other project documentation
- Track project means of verification and recommend measures to mitigate implementation risks
- Prepare project reports for donors and other external stakeholders
- Coordinate implementation with authorities, government, private-sector actors, UN agencies, intergovernmental organizations, NGOs and donors
Role Requirements
- Applicants must be Indonesian nationals with knowledge of migration, border security and counter-trafficking in Indonesia
- A bachelor degree or equivalent in Political or Social Sciences, Law, International Relations or a related field with at least three years of relevant experience, or completed high school with at least five years of relevant experience, is required
- Professional experience in project implementation and development, including training government and non-government stakeholders, is required
- Experience facilitating community outreach, trainings, workshops or coordination meetings and producing donor reports is required
- Experience liaising with government authorities, national or international institutions, UN agencies and NGOs is required
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Indonesian is required
- Willingness to travel and work under difficult conditions is required
Desired Criteria
- Experience supporting capacity-building activities and module development is desirable
- Knowledge of IOM computerized systems is an advantage
