Summary of Responsibilities
- Lead integrated child protection and education programme development
- Strengthen national governance, public policy, financing and service delivery systems
- Manage programme funds and promote efficient use of resources
- Monitor and evaluate programme performance and sustainable results
- Apply rights-based and results-based programme management
- Build national and local capacity for scalable child-focused systems
- Coordinate advocacy and partnerships with government, financial institutions, civil society and the private sector
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in social sciences, child protection, education, management, international relations, public administration, public policy, social policy, social development, community development or another relevant technical field
- At least five years of relevant professional experience in child protection, education, social policy, planning, management or finance
- Expertise in knowledge management, situation analysis, programme monitoring and evaluation, results-based programming and partnership collaboration
- Fluency in Spanish and English
- Existing authorization to work in Ecuador because UNICEF does not facilitate visas for national officer recruitment
Desired Criteria
- Experience working in a developing country
- Familiarity with emergency contexts
- Experience with a United Nations agency or organisation
- Country-level experience in development, fragile or humanitarian settings
