Summary of Responsibilities

  • Lead integrated child protection and education programme development
  • Strengthen national governance, public policy, financing and service delivery systems
  • Manage programme funds and promote efficient use of resources
  • Monitor and evaluate programme performance and sustainable results
  • Apply rights-based and results-based programme management
  • Build national and local capacity for scalable child-focused systems
  • Coordinate advocacy and partnerships with government, financial institutions, civil society and the private sector

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in social sciences, child protection, education, management, international relations, public administration, public policy, social policy, social development, community development or another relevant technical field
  • At least five years of relevant professional experience in child protection, education, social policy, planning, management or finance
  • Expertise in knowledge management, situation analysis, programme monitoring and evaluation, results-based programming and partnership collaboration
  • Fluency in Spanish and English
  • Existing authorization to work in Ecuador because UNICEF does not facilitate visas for national officer recruitment

Desired Criteria

  • Experience working in a developing country
  • Familiarity with emergency contexts
  • Experience with a United Nations agency or organisation
  • Country-level experience in development, fragile or humanitarian settings
