Job Description

Provides national technical leadership for UNICEF's Early Childhood Development and Human Capital programme pillar. The specialist drives integrated health, nutrition, education and social-protection programming, strengthens systems and public policy, and promotes evidence-based advocacy. The role convenes partners to deliver scalable, equitable services and lasting results for children.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Lead the ECD and Human Capital programme pillar
  • Develop and coordinate integrated health, nutrition, education and social-protection programmes
  • Strengthen governance, policies, financing and service-delivery systems
  • Promote evidence-based advocacy and programme coherence
  • Advance national ownership and cross-sectoral integration
  • Coordinate partnerships with government, financial institutions, private sector and civil society
  • Drive scalable interventions addressing early childhood development and child malnutrition

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in a relevant social, public-health, early-childhood-development, policy or development field
  • At least five years of relevant professional experience in public health, nutrition, early childhood development, social policy, planning, management or finance
  • Demonstrated experience supervising people
  • Fluent or proficient Spanish
  • Fluent or proficient English

Desired Criteria

  • Experience working in a developing country
  • Familiarity with emergencies
  • Experience in a UN system agency or organisation
  • Relevant country-level experience in development, fragile settings or humanitarian contexts
