Job Description

Embedded at Ukraine's National Mine Action Centre, the volunteer will strengthen national mine-action coordination, information exchange and institutional capacity. The role advises on priorities across quality management, accreditation, training, tasking, reporting and information management, helping national authorities resolve cross-institutional issues and implement transparent, consistent systems during the conflict response.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Advise NMAC on coordination and capacity development
  • Support priorities for quality management, accreditation, training, tasking, reporting and information management
  • Establish coordination processes, issue logs, action trackers and decision records
  • Identify duplication, gaps, bottlenecks and dependencies and recommend follow-up
  • Coordinate information exchange with national mine-action counterparts
  • Prepare briefs, progress updates, meeting records and stakeholder summaries

Role Requirements

  • At least seven years of experience in information management, GIS, data management, database administration, data quality or systems interoperability
  • Experience analysing complex information-management arrangements and coordinating institutional data owners
  • Practical knowledge of databases, data-validation methods, spreadsheet tools and information-management or GIS software
  • Ability to provide senior technical advice and work with government counterparts
  • Ukrainian and English

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with mine-action information management, GRIT, IMSMA or comparable systems
  • Experience designing interoperability, data-exchange, dashboards or geospatial products
  • Knowledge of International Mine Action Standards
  • Experience in Ukraine or another conflict-affected setting
  • Prior UN experience
