Supports UN Women India's country portfolio evaluation through document review, methodology design, fieldwork, qualitative analysis and reporting. The consultant records consultations, translates materials, safeguards confidential data and contributes evidence and findings that meet evaluation-quality and ethical standards.

Responsibilities
- Review strategic notes, programme documents, monitoring reports, evaluations and audits
- Help develop an inclusive evaluation methodology, inception report and data-collection tools
- Support interviews, focus groups and consultations while following ethical guidelines
- Capture findings on results, challenges, gaps and learning from evaluation evidence
- Provide translation and interpretation support where needed
- Contribute notes, presentations, synthesis reports and annexes across evaluation phases
- Protect confidential evaluation data and submit organised source files to the evaluation manager
Requirements
- Master's degree in gender studies, development studies, sociology, political science or another relevant field
- Minimum seven years of experience conducting research, evaluations, reviews or assessments with development organisations
- Expertise in gender equality, women's rights and women's economic empowerment
- Knowledge of Indian national development policies, strategies and frameworks
- Experience or strong knowledge of Tamil Nadu without involvement in evaluated UN Women interventions
- Ability to apply ethical evaluation standards, confidentiality, do-no-harm, human-rights, gender-equality and disability-inclusion principles
- Fluency in English and ability to communicate in Tamil

- Full-time home-based assignment with in-person evaluation activities as required
- Potential assignment travel is reimbursed separately
