Job Description

UNSOH seeks a G-6 Movement Control Assistant in Santo Domingo to coordinate safe, compliant passenger and cargo movements supporting operations in Haiti. The post manages load planning, manifests, movement requests, customs documentation, air-terminal procedures, baggage handling and liaison with port and local authorities, while ensuring dangerous-goods, security and aviation safety requirements are met.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Develop passenger and cargo load plans
  • Coordinate travel for civilian, military and police personnel
  • Register and prioritize cargo movement requests
  • Prepare movement orders, manifests, waivers and customs documentation
  • Coordinate boarding, deplaning, check-in and baggage handling
  • Enforce aviation, security and dangerous-goods procedures
  • Liaise with port and local authorities on travel, immigration and customs issues

Role Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in movement control, airport operations, passenger management, customer service, transport logistics, travel, logistics or administration
  • English and Spanish at UN Level II across reading, writing, listening and speaking

Desired Criteria

  • Postgraduate certificate in cargo, logistics, passenger handling or customer service
  • Experience in a UN common-system field or similar international organization
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
  • French or Haitian Creole at UN Level II or I respectively
