Job Description
Lead molecular biology and diagnostic quality work for WHO ESPEN in Ouagadougou, supporting elimination of neglected tropical diseases. The biologist supervises laboratory testing and sample repositories, develops SOPs and reference protocols, analyses assay results for elimination decisions, supports operational research and scientific reporting, and plans training and laboratory-needs

Summary of Responsibilities
- Supervise laboratory testing and protocol compliance
- Coordinate biological sample repository development
- Develop and validate SOPs and quality assurance systems
- Support operational research and scientific publications
- Analyse assay results for NTD elimination decisions
- Produce laboratory performance reports
- Plan laboratory training and needs assessments
Role Requirements
- First university degree in molecular biology, parasitology, vector biology or related laboratory science
- At least five years of applied molecular biology experience for NTD surveillance
- Expert French
Desired Criteria
- Master’s degree or PhD in molecular biology, parasitology, entomology, vector biology or laboratory sciences
- WHO experience and a publication record on onchocerciasis or other NTDs
