Responsibilities

  • Assess protection risks, essential-service access and referral pathways across return and counter-trafficking programmes
  • Develop protection strategies, safeguards and accountability plans for IOM operations in the DRC
  • Guide national staff and oversee case management and programme quality against IOM policies
  • Coordinate referrals, documentation, family tracing and reunification with authorities and protection actors
  • Identify programme-development priorities using results frameworks, emerging trends and donor requirements
  • Monitor protection activities against objectives, indicators and targets
  • Represent the programme in technical forums and maintain engagement with donors, partners and stakeholders
  • Draft regular reports and ensure continuous access to appropriate services for migrants

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social sciences, international relations, research, law or a related field with five years of relevant experience, or a university degree with seven years
  • Experience working with migrants, civil society and governments
  • Experience leading and managing a large multinational team
  • Experience managing multi-country protection programmes and mainstreaming protection across operations
  • Experience assisting migrants in vulnerable situations and people with complex needs
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Fluency in spoken and written French
