Job Description
IOM Chad seeks a Media and Communications Officer to implement communications strategies for its programmes. The role develops visibility plans and multimedia content, manages digital outreach and media, prepares messages and briefings, guides design outputs, supports UN coordination, trains teams, documents field activities, and ensures consent and data-protection standards for visual content.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Implement internal and external communications strategies that promote accurate narratives on IOM Chad programmes
- Develop project visibility and communication plans and provide regular information to donor communications focal points
- Prepare stories, blogs, videos and social-media content for IOM Chad
- Implement communications campaigns at national, regional and international levels
- Manage online presence through social-media accounts and the website
- Respond to media requests and coordinate coverage, briefings, interviews and journalist contacts
- Prepare key messages, statements, talking points and background documents
- Guide graphic-design outputs and ensure adherence to IOM brand guidelines
- Conduct field travel to capture multimedia material and ensure informed consent and data-protection compliance
Role Requirements
- Master’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, development, international relations or a related field with two years of relevant experience
- University degree in the stated fields with four years of relevant experience
- Experience implementing digital communications and social-media activities
- Experience in corporate writing, editing, donor visibility and media liaison
- Fluency in English and French, oral and written
Desired Criteria
- Experience working in the region or an emergency setting is an advantage
- Working knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage
