Job Description
The mechanical technician will help develop coating technology for vacuum chambers supporting CERN's Future Circular Collider programme. Working with engineers, technicians and physicists, the role designs and fabricates deposition equipment, assembles ultra-high-vacuum systems, validates coating processes and tests the vacuum performance of full-scale beam-pipe prototypes.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Design and construct mechanical parts for customised physical vapour deposition systems
- Assemble coating setups operating in ultra-high vacuum
- Validate coating technology and processes using full-scale beam-pipe prototypes
- Test the vacuum performance of coatings in ultra-high-vacuum systems
Role Requirements
- General secondary education diploma or a shorter non-university degree
- Maximum of 2 years of professional experience since graduation in a technical or administrative field
- Nationality of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State
- Valid driving licence
- Ability to work in radiation areas and underground installations
