Mechanical Engineer

PAHO seeks a consultant to strengthen Honduras’s National Health Surveillance Laboratory quality-management system under the project. The consultant will address nonconformities, improve documentation, build staff capability and develop processes for prioritized-test accreditation under OHN ISO 15189:2022. The assignment delivers internal audits, metrology support and an accreditation roadmap.

• Support installation and monitoring of mechanical systems for potable water supply and irrigation infrastructure
• Provide technical input for procurement of mechanical machinery and equipment
• Prepare and review mechanical installations for water supply, irrigation and building services
• Review contractor technical submittals and shop drawings for mechanical and plumbing services
• Apply AutoCAD and Revit for mechanical and plumbing engineering documentation

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with two years of relevant experience
• Experience in mechanical engineering design, supervision or construction for medium- to large-scale infrastructure projects
• Experience in project assessment, design and supervision for rehabilitation or construction projects
• Experience using AutoCAD and mechanical engineering design software
• Intermediate English and fluent Arabic

• Postgraduate study, diploma, certification or specialist training in laboratory quality management, accreditation, auditing or metrology
