Job Description

Enables UNICEF's assisted voluntary return and reintegration services across Veneto through community outreach, individual migrant counselling and meticulous application support. The assistant coordinates referrals, institutions, consulates and transport-related follow-up, while maintaining returnee records and consolidating data and stories that document AVRR activity and beneficiary outcomes.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Connect Veneto municipalities, local organizations, NGOs and diaspora groups with AVRR information and referral mechanisms
  • Run information sessions and provide tailored voluntary-return counselling for third-country nationals
  • Prepare Ministry of Interior AVRR submissions and maintain orderly documentation for potential returnees
  • Disseminate AVRR information materials with the Project Coordinator
  • Support migrants to finalize applications, transmit case files to IOM and secure consular travel documents when required
  • Work with Questure, Immigration Offices and Prefectures to support assessment and authorization of AVRR assistance
  • Coordinate practical transport arrangements for medical and non-medical returns, including relevant medical documentation
  • Gather statistical data, beneficiary profiles and narratives for AVRR reporting and project communications

Role Requirements

  • University degree in International Relations, Law, Social, Political or Economic Sciences, Social Work, Migration or Development Studies, Psychology or a related field with two years of relevant professional experience; or High School diploma with four years
  • At least two years of working experience in the migration sector
  • Fluency in Italian and English, oral and written
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Previous working experience in AVRR counselling
