Job Description
Leads internal investigations for OIOS into misconduct, fraud, corruption, sexual exploitation and abuse, and other violations of United Nations rules. The role directs teams, gathers and tests evidence, interviews subjects and witnesses, prepares findings and reports, and manages investigative resources while identifying trends that strengthen oversight, accountability and corrective action.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Plan and manage investigations into misconduct, fraud, corruption, resource waste and violations of United Nations rules
- Lead investigation teams and define investigation scope and timetables
- Select investigative tools, gather evidence and obtain and review documentation
- Conduct interviews and take statements from subjects and witnesses
- Analyse facts, formulate findings and recommend corrective, disciplinary and jurisdictional action
- Prepare tribunal testimony, investigation reports and related communications
- Collaborate under Investigations Division procedures and manage unit financial resources and logistics
- Analyse data trends and produce visualisations and reports for oversight planning and decision-making
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in law or a relevant field, or a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying work experience
- At least seven years of progressively responsible investigation-related work with supervisory functions
- Experience interviewing subjects and witnesses in investigations
- Experience in international investigation activities
- Experience in an international or multilateral public institution
- English is required
Desired Criteria
- Completion of degree or non-degree programmes in data analytics, business analytics or data science
- At least two years of experience in data analytics or a related area
Skills
Additional Information
- Travel to remote locations, at times for extended periods, is required to manage and conduct investigations
- Initial appointment or assignment for one year, subject to funding and mandate extension
