Job Description
Provides online English–Arabic interpretation for UNHCR’s 2026 Global Consultations with NGOs, helping displaced and stateless people’s organizations participate meaningfully. Volunteers prepare for assigned sessions, deliver impartial protection-sensitive interpretation and coordinate technical and handover arrangements during plenary and thematic discussions on asylum and protection.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Attend the assignment briefing and review session materials
- Complete onboarding and confidentiality requirements
- Participate in a technical test and interpretation rehearsal
- Interpret accurately and impartially between English and Arabic
- Coordinate handovers with the assigned partner interpreter
- Flag technical, connectivity, audibility and terminology issues promptly
Role Requirements
- Fluency in English and Arabic
Desired Criteria
- Familiarity with terminology on refugees, civil society and international organizations
- Previous interpretation or translation experience
