Job Description
This OCHA internship in Geneva improves finance reporting through automation and data analytics. Summary of Responsibilities
- Review financial-reporting templates and identify improvements to structure, consistency, data-quality checks and refresh processes
- Redesign budget and expenditure reports, statements of accounts and donor contribution-detail reports
- Connect Excel reports to approved data sources with Power Query and transform data into reporting-ready formats
- Develop refreshable templates that reduce manual copy-and-paste work and enable automatic updates
- Create data-transformation logic, naming conventions and documentation for team maintenance
- Validate report outputs against source data and official records for completeness, accuracy and consistency
- Explore AI or data-analytics techniques for classification, variance analysis, exception identification or narrative reporting
- Prepare user guidance, standard operating procedures and training materials for enhanced reports
Role Requirements
- Enrollment in or completion of a graduate programme, or enrollment in or completion of the final academic year of a bachelor's degree programme
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel including formulas, tables, PivotTables and data validation
- Good knowledge of Power Query, data cleaning, data transformation and connections to structured data sources
- Fluency in reading, understanding, speaking and writing English
Desired Criteria
- Knowledge of Power BI, Python, SQL, AI tools or other data analytics and visualization tools
