Job Description
Represents ICRC in Huddur, Somalia, strengthening community acceptance, humanitarian access and understanding of the organization’s neutral mandate. The national Field Officer analyses security and humanitarian developments, builds stakeholder networks, supports field activities and produces timely reporting to inform operations and protect teams and beneficiaries.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Monitor security, political, economic and social developments and report analysis
- Identify humanitarian needs and propose appropriate action
- Contribute to activity analysis and planning with specialists and generalists
- Review security conditions through analysis and stakeholder contacts
- Provide security analysis before, during and after field trips
- Maintain contacts with authorities, community leaders and humanitarian organizations
- Represent ICRC to strengthen acceptance, access and respect for humanitarian principles
- Collect and compile project information for timely written reports
Role Requirements
- Bachelor degree in social sciences, development studies or a related field
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in a similar field
- Excellent written and spoken English and Somali
- Knowledge of the regional political, economic, social and cultural environment
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office
Desired Criteria
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- Willingness to travel extensively in Somalia
