The Finance Associate coordinates finance, budget and administrative support for WFP’s Monrovia office, providing financial information for management decisions. The role maintains accounting procedures and cash controls, monitors liquidity and payments, tracks budgets and forecasts, reconciles accounts and ledgers, compiles monthly reports, and trains support staff in resource management.

• Provide finance and budget support in compliance with WFP financial policies, rules and regulations
• Maintain accounting procedures, systems and cash controls
• Monitor daily cash positions and optimize surplus-cash use through the liquidity portfolio
• Process payments to staff and supplier invoices through the centralized registry system
• Prepare and monitor budgets, expenditure and forecasts
• Monitor account balances, process transactions and analyse general-ledger accounts for corrective actions
• Compile data from WFP systems for monthly financial reports and train support staff in financial-resource management

• Completion of secondary school education and a post-secondary certificate in the related functional area
• Six or more years of progressively responsible work experience in the relevant business stream with general administrative work experience
• Fluency in oral and written communication in the UN language used at the duty station and in the duty station’s language, if different
