Finance Assistant

Supports WFP’s Djibouti finance function by monitoring budgets, disbursements and expenses; validating vendor claims and financial data; maintaining payment and invoice records; and producing dashboards and management reporting. The role strengthens internal controls and compliance, supports travel payments and reconciliations, and provides reliable financial information for resource decisions

• Provide procedural and technical support on finance and budget matters in line with WFP policies and regulations
• Conduct budget monitoring and variance analysis and recommend actions for cost control and resource optimization
• Develop financial dashboards, management reports and key performance indicators for performance monitoring
• Monitor petty-cash accounts, reconcile disbursements and prepare related reporting
• Verify vendor claims, advances and receivables and ensure suppliers are paid under WFP finance rules
• Validate financial-system information, maintain invoice and payment registers, and follow up data discrepancies

• Completion of secondary school education
• Fluency in oral and written French
• Intermediate knowledge of English and/or another official language

• A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable
• At least five years of experience in finance, accounting, budgeting, management control, financial audit or financial analysis
• Experience preparing financial dashboards and management reports is desirable
