Job Description

Supports the Office of the NATO Secretary General by delivering secure, protocol-compliant transport and related administrative services. The driver plans and carries out executive missions, operates official vehicles, maintains journey and accident documentation, transports documents, assists with vehicle upkeep and works flexibly to meet on-call and out-of-hours requirements.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute transport missions for NATO senior leadership
  • Drive armoured and non-armoured vehicles on official NATO business
  • Calculate routes, distances and estimated arrival times
  • Maintain official vehicles and assist with basic maintenance
  • Create daily logs, accident reports and trip sheets
  • Transport documents between NATO Headquarters, embassies and ministries
  • Complete required driving training and courses
  • Support administrative, maintenance and dispatch work

Role Requirements

  • Higher secondary education
  • 3 years of professional VIP-driver experience
  • Belgian category B and C driving licences
  • Valid medical certificate or willingness to renew it for heavy transport
  • Advanced proficiency in one of English or French and intermediate proficiency in the other
  • Nationality of a NATO member country
  • Security clearance, medical approval and verification of studies and work experience

Desired Criteria

  • Certification in advanced driving skills
  • First-aid or BLS-AED certificate
  • Knowledge of road infrastructure in Brussels and surrounding countries
  • Experience in a Close Protection Team
