Job Description

IUCN seeks an EU Communications Intern for its Brussels office. The six-month placement supports IUCN Europe’s communications strategy through written and visual content, social-media reporting, event follow-up and office administration. The internship is unpaid, with public-transport and lunch expenses covered, and requires student status and an EU work permit.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support implementation of IUCN Europe’s communications strategy
  • Draft newsletters, web stories, articles, brochures and factsheets
  • Create social-media content, visuals and account reports
  • Produce visual content and videos
  • Attend meetings and conferences and report on outcomes
  • Maintain databases, calendars, project-management and logistics support

Role Requirements

  • Student status and university enrolment for the entire internship
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s studies in communications, environmental studies or a relevant discipline
  • EU work permit or EU nationality
  • Proficient written and spoken English
  • Good organisational, administrative and reporting skills

Desired Criteria

  • Knowledge of EU institutions or the environment sector
  • French or Spanish
