This national UN Volunteer assignment provides UNDP Colombia with technical support on disaster-risk reduction and integrated fire management. It coordinates public, cooperation and civil-society actors; plans and monitors risk-management initiatives; and develops robust technical documentation to advance prevention, response and sustainable resilience to forest fires and other crises.

• Strengthen coordination among cooperation agencies, government institutions and civil-society organisations
• Participate in working groups that implement integrated risk-management strategies
• Design and monitor action plans for UNDP risk-management initiatives
• Prepare technical and monitoring reports on the impact of implemented initiatives
• Support administrative and financial management of UNDP initiatives and projects
• Provide technical advice on risk reduction and integrated fire-management strategies
• Advise public and community organisations on forest-fire reduction, management and prevention initiatives
• Systematise lessons learned from integrated fire management and disaster-risk reduction

• At least 3 years of experience in projects related to integrated risk management, environmental management or forest management
• Background in environmental engineering, forestry engineering, geography, biology or a related discipline
• Experience supporting technical processes, projects and programmes for forest-fire risk reduction, management and prevention
• Spanish

• Experience in integrated fire management or forest-fire management projects
• Experience implementing projects within the United Nations system or similar agencies
• Experience drafting technical documents and project reports
