Job Description

WHO is recruiting an EPI Officer to strengthen Sudan’s Expanded Programme on Immunization. The officer will analyse locality-level coverage and bottlenecks, consolidate state and partner plans, support EPI and GAVI coordination, improve the accuracy and use of immunization data, and follow up on monthly reporting and state-level feedback across all levels nationwide.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Analyse immunization coverage by locality to identify bottlenecks and barriers and support development of an evidence-based national plan
  • Compile state and partner plans into an annual EPI plan aligned with the comprehensive Multi Years Plan
  • Support the Ministry of Health to revitalize EPI coordination bodies and prepare for GAVI coordination calls
  • Ensure accurate EPI data and reporting at all levels
  • Follow up on Ministry of Health feedback to states in monthly reports and its implementation

Role Requirements

  • University degree in medicine, public health or nursing
  • At least one year of experience in EPI programmes
  • Expert knowledge of English
  • Expert knowledge of Arabic
  • Only nationals of the country where the duty station is located will be accepted

Desired Criteria

  • Master’s degree in medicine or public health
  • Experience in a UN or NGO setting
