Education Specialist

Strengthens UNICEF’s education programme in Bihar through planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation that improve learning and inclusive education. The Specialist works with government and partners to build education systems, translate analysis into policy dialogue and advocacy, develop partnerships, and use collaboration and knowledge management to achieve results for disadvantaged children.

• Support education-programme development and planning
• Manage, monitor and deliver education-programme results
• Provide technical and operational support to programme implementation
• Build networks and strategic partnerships
• Advance innovation, knowledge management and capacity building
• Convene partners across sectors to shape education priorities through evidence and collaboration

• Advanced university degree in education, economics, psychology or another relevant technical field
• At least 5 years of professional experience in education planning, management or research using results-based management approaches
• Experience translating education analysis into policy dialogue, advocacy and knowledge products for governments and partners
• Experience drafting education analytical papers, policy briefs, programme documents, reports and donor proposals
• Experience influencing education priorities with senior government and working on convergent approaches across social policy, child protection, nutrition, health or WASH
• Fluency in English
• Indian nationality

• Experience leveraging partnerships and financing to scale programmes
• Experience in UN programme or project development
• Education in Emergencies experience
• Previous supervisory experience
• Country-level experience in development, fragile or humanitarian contexts
