Job Description
Provides strategic leadership and representation for coordinated education responses in complex humanitarian settings. The manager convenes partners around evidence-based goals, oversees assessment and response-planning mechanisms, mobilises resources and strengthens national and local capacity so education interventions remain timely, coherent, accountable and responsive to affected populations.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and representation for the Education Cluster
- Coordinate diverse stakeholders around shared evidence-based education-response goals
- Oversee coordination mechanisms, needs assessments and response planning
- Mobilise resources and build partnerships for collective education action
- Monitor response performance and support an inclusive, accountable humanitarian response
- Strengthen national and local capacity for coordinated education interventions
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in education, economics, pedagogy, psychology, sociology, international development, management, social sciences or another relevant technical field
- At least 8 years of professional experience in education programme planning, coordination, management or research
- Fluency in English
Desired Criteria
- Programme-management experience in education within a UN system agency or organisation
- At least two years of Education Cluster, Sector or Working Group coordination experience
- Experience with humanitarian coordination, response planning and inter-agency collaboration
- Experience engaging donors and senior stakeholders through strategic updates, briefing materials and advocacy products
- Experience developing HNOs, HRPs, sector or cluster response plans and preparedness plans
- Knowledge of IASC cluster coordination, Sphere standards, the Core Humanitarian Standard and INEE Minimum Standards
