Summary of Responsibilities
- Lead TWAS scientific-cooperation programme development, management and delivery
- Supervise staff and oversee annual programmes, reports, action plans and budget projections
- Develop innovative South–South cooperation and scientific networks
- Provide strategic direction for resource mobilization
- Coordinate work with associated organizations hosted by the Academy
- Serve as secretary to TWAS Steering Committee and Council meetings
Role Requirements
- Doctorate in a science-related discipline
- At least 15 years of progressively responsible experience in scientific research and administration at regional or international levels
- Demonstrated leadership in a scientific environment and management of human and financial resources
- Excellent spoken and written English
Desired Criteria
- Experience in policy dialogue with governmental, non-governmental, public or private sectors
- Knowledge of other UNESCO official languages or Italian
