Responsibilities
- Set the intellectual vision and strategy for UNESCO science programmes
- Direct implementation of the natural, basic, social and human sciences portfolios
- Advance ethical science, technology and innovation governance with Member States
- Build international scientific cooperation, institutional capacity and global networks
- Mobilise partnerships and resources and represent UNESCO in high-level forums
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in a scientific discipline
- At least fifteen years of progressively responsible senior leadership in fields linked to UNESCO science programmes
- Experience managing global scientific programmes or institutions and leading large diverse teams
- Experience in complex negotiation and politically sensitive international normative processes
- Excellent command and writing ability in English or French
