Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise and monitor implementation of assigned cooperation projects
  • Coordinate substantive outputs across UNCTAD divisions and other UN bodies
  • Align divisional work with the needs of least developed and vulnerable countries
  • Assure the quality, objectivity and mandate compliance of programme outputs
  • Advise the Deputy Secretary-General on proposals, priorities and resource allocation
  • Manage budgets, performance reporting, staffing and other programme administration
  • Lead substantive preparation and organisation of international meetings and seminars
  • Represent programme interests in discussions with governments and other institutions

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in business or public administration, finance, accounting, law, social sciences or a related field, or a first degree with two additional years of experience
  • At least fifteen years of progressively responsible programme-coordination and development experience at national and international levels
  • Experience in intergovernmental forums dealing with trade and development or related issues
  • English at UN Level III
