Job Description
The UN Resident Coordinator Office in Georgetown seeks a Data Specialist to develop databases and analytics for Guyana’s Cooperation Framework and SDG priorities. The specialist will analyse data, build dashboards, strengthen monitoring and evaluation systems, work with national statistical partners, deliver training, and ensure quality, interoperability and evidence-based reporting.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Develop databases, data-collection systems and analytics strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
- Identify and interpret trends using statistical methods and structured and unstructured data
- Develop analysis, reporting and quality-control capabilities and data-source strategies
- Support monitoring, evaluation and learning products for Cooperation Frameworks
- Develop digital tools and dashboards tracking SDG indicator progress
- Create reports, dashboards and visualizations for management decision-making
- Integrate milestones, indicators and evidence streams into common data pipelines
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists to improve data flows and quality
- Deliver data-analytics and results-based-management training
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in computer science, data science, analytics, statistics, applied mathematics, information management, data management, information systems, economics, social sciences or a related field
- Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience translating business requirements into technical solutions
- Data storytelling and data visualization skills using Tableau, Power BI, Qlik and R
- Knowledge of the data life cycle from collection and wrangling through deployment, monitoring and reporting
- Fluency in English
Desired Criteria
- Active certificate in data engineering, data management or cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
- Experience supporting research, data analysis, knowledge management or programme management in development cooperation
- Experience developing and delivering training programmes and curricula

Additional Information
- Fixed-term appointment for one year with no expectancy of renewal
- Open to nationals of Guyana only; nationals residing elsewhere may be considered but bear travel and relocation costs
