Job Description

The consultant will help the CREWS Secretariat strengthen private-sector engagement for early-warning systems in least developed countries and small island developing states. The assignment reviews current practice, develops a strategy note and practical engagement toolkit, and designs partnership models and a pilot roadmap. It will also facilitate consultations and present recommendations to CREWS partners and stakeholders.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Review CREWS practices and private-sector engagement evidence
  • Assess collaboration and co-financing opportunities across the CREWS portfolio
  • Develop a private-sector engagement strategy note
  • Prepare a practical engagement toolkit for implementing partners
  • Design partnership models and engagement pathways
  • Facilitate consultations with partners and stakeholders
  • Develop a roadmap for piloting engagement approaches
  • Present findings and recommendations to the Secretariat

Role Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field, or a first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
  • At least 15 years of progressively responsible professional experience in private-sector engagement, development finance, public-private partnerships, climate resilience or related fields
  • Excellent oral and written English

Desired Criteria

  • Experience working in developing countries, particularly least developed countries and small island developing states
  • Knowledge of other official languages of the Organization
