Job Description

UN-Habitat seeks an intern in Tunis to support its communications and knowledge-management work. Reporting to the Head of Office and Communications Assistant, the intern will develop digital and print content, monitor media, document projects and events, support outreach campaigns, and organise visibility materials for the Tunisia office and its partner communications.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Prepare communication materials including social media posts, short articles, newsletters and press releases
  • Collect, compile and draft press reviews and media-monitoring summaries
  • Manage and update UN-Habitat Tunisia digital platforms, including social media channels and website content
  • Design basic visual materials such as social-media visuals, infographics and presentations
  • Document projects and events through photos, short write-ups and communication briefs
  • Support the organisation and promotion of events, campaigns and outreach activities

Role Requirements

  • Be enrolled in graduate school, the final year of a first university degree, or have graduated with a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree
  • Be computer literate in standard software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Have a closely related field of study for the internship, such as communications, journalism, media studies, public relations, digital communication, graphic design, marketing, international relations, development studies or urban studies

Desired Criteria

  • Experience or academic exposure in communications-related activities is desirable
  • Proficiency in written communication and basic research and concise-summary drafting are desirable

  • Interns are not financially remunerated.
  • Travel, visa, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or sponsoring institutions.
  • Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of Tunisia may need the appropriate visa and work/employment authorization.
