Job Description
This six-month UNEP internship supports the Global Peatlands Initiative in Nairobi by maintaining knowledge resources, producing web and social content on peatland conservation, and coordinating partnership meetings, workshops, briefings and follow-up across the initiative's stakeholder network.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Maintain the Global Peatlands Initiative knowledge-management tracker and prepare factsheets and resources for briefings, speeches, presentations and videos
- Draft and update content for UNEP peatlands pages, the initiative website, partner hub and online communities
- Write articles and blogs on peatland restoration, conservation, ecosystem services, carbon finance, biodiversity and climate
- Support Steering Committee meetings and other virtual or in-person partnership events
- Organise workshops and teleconferences, including agendas, summaries, minutes and follow-up actions
- Liaise with Global Peatlands Initiative partners and respond to public information needs
Role Requirements
- Enrollment in or completion of a graduate programme, or enrollment in the final year of or completion of a bachelor's programme in a field relevant to the Global Peatlands Initiative
- Academic background in environmental sciences, environmental policy, biodiversity, conservation, development or a related field
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Ability to interact successfully across cultures
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
- Fluency in English

- The internship is office-based in Nairobi for six months
