Job Description

Produces documentary and institutional audiovisual content for UN-Habitat’s participatory urban-development work in Brazil. The consultant plans and records interviews and field footage, develops scripts and schedules, edits accessible video products, and delivers organised source files. The assignment documents the Municipal Cemetery and cultural route in Juiz de Fora while maintaining project visual identity.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Plan and produce audiovisual content, interviews, institutional footage and event coverage
  • Develop scripts, interview guidelines, filming schedules and technical requirements
  • Edit video and audio, including colour correction, sound adjustment, subtitles and graphics
  • Produce five short videos, a mini documentary and an institutional video
  • Organise and deliver raw footage and final project files to the project team
  • Ensure all products meet UN-Habitat visual identity and communication standards

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Photography, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Film Studies or a related field, or three additional years of relevant experience beyond the requirement
  • At least three years of professional video editing and audiovisual-production experience with a portfolio available on request
  • Documentary-production experience
  • Audiovisual storytelling experience on gender issues
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve or equivalent video-editing software
  • Brazilian nationality or a permanent visa in Brazil
  • Fluency in Portuguese

Desired Criteria

  • Storytelling experience on urban issues, diversity, social participation or community initiatives in Brazil is desirable
  • UN or other international-agency experience is desirable
  • Working knowledge of Spanish is desirable
