Job Description
Supports the International, Impartial and Independent Mechanism’s cooperation with the Independent Institution on Missing Persons for Syria by researching, evaluating and synthesising repository and open-source information. The role prepares analytical products and information packages that advance consent-based sharing, missing-person searches and transitional-justice memorialisation work

Summary of Responsibilities
- Develop research and analysis strategies to identify information relevant to missing-person searches and memorialisation
- Evaluate information for relevance and gaps that inform search-related decisions
- Organise and synthesise evidence into analytical products for proactive sharing with the IIMP
- Maintain internal databases and information-management processes for classifying, storing and transferring information packages
- Support consent-seeking from sources before sharing relevant information
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in criminology, law, Middle Eastern studies, conflict or security studies, international relations, human rights, criminal law, political or social science, or a related field; a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted
- At least two years of progressively responsible experience in information analysis related to missing persons, criminal investigations, international humanitarian law, human rights, or the Middle East and North Africa region
- English and Arabic are required
Desired Criteria
- Training or certification in intelligence analysis is desirable
- Experience in eDiscovery, big-data investigations, analytical software, the Syrian conflict or evidence review is desirable
