Job Description

Supports the UN Resident Coordinator Office in Kenya with data systems, analytics and monitoring products for the Cooperation Framework. The role consolidates and validates agency inputs, tracks indicators and results, develops dashboards and evidence products, and helps national and UN partners strengthen data, evaluation and learning practices for coordinated sustainable-development action.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Implement data systems, collection processes and analytics that improve statistical efficiency and quality
  • Analyse trends and patterns in structured data using statistical methods
  • Acquire and clean source data and maintain databases and data systems
  • Develop monitoring, evaluation and learning products for Cooperation Frameworks using approved indicators
  • Create reports, dashboards and visualisations that communicate findings to management
  • Integrate monitoring milestones, indicators and evidence streams into common data pipelines
  • Support outcome-level analysis and contribution studies for UN reporting and evaluations
  • Deliver analytics, results-based management and evaluation training for staff and government partners

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in computer science, data science, analytics, statistics, applied mathematics, information management, data management, information systems, information science, economic or social sciences, or a related field
  • At least two years of progressively responsible experience in data analysis or a related area, including data structures and statistical methods
  • Skills in relational databases using SQL and programming languages including Python and R
  • Ability to perform quality assurance of data analysis outputs
  • English and Swahili at UN Level II
  • Nationality of Kenya

Desired Criteria

  • Knowledge of the data life cycle from collection and wrangling through deployment, monitoring and reporting
  • Skills in data storytelling and data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik and R
  • Ability to assess data accuracy and consistency through data validation
  • Experience supporting Cooperation Framework, SDG indicator or national statistical systems
