Associate Data Scientist

Develops data-science products that improve the collection, processing, validation and integration of trade data for ITC’s Trade Map. The role applies statistical and computational methods to strengthen data quality, identify market insights and support web-based market-analysis tools, while documenting solutions and guiding junior consultants in their use.

• Identify and acquire data sources suitable for decision-making and market analysis
• Structure, clean, format, parse and standardise data for analytical use
• Develop data-science products for data collection, processing and integration
• Apply machine learning, predictive analytics, text mining and statistical methods
• Improve the quality and reliability of Trade Map data-production processes
• Document solutions, tools and processes to strengthen internal capabilities
• Guide, train and supervise junior consultants

• First-level university degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, engineering or a related field with intensive data analysis
• At least two years of relevant experience in data science, data analytics, applied mathematics, information management or a related area, or an advanced degree accepted in lieu of this experience
• English at UN Level III in reading, writing, listening and speaking
• Spanish at UN Level III in reading, writing, listening and speaking

• Experience with customs trade statistics or trade in services statistics
• Experience using Python, R or SAS for data science
