Job Description

WHO seeks a communications assistant in Bangui to support public-health communication and health-promotion work. The consultant will produce and disseminate public information across print, web, broadcast and social media, strengthen WHO visibility and reputation, monitor public concerns, develop creative youth-facing content, and help deliver coherent digital communication for health campaigns.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Produce and disseminate high-quality public information on established and emerging public-health issues
  • Support health communication and health-promotion functions for the WHO office in the Central African Republic
  • Monitor public opinion and concerns and contribute to strategic responses
  • Improve the visibility of health campaigns through creative youth-focused formats
  • Maintain a coherent WHO presence on the web and social media
  • Support field communication and decentralised-office activities during domestic travel

Role Requirements

  • At least two years of higher education in communication, journalism, public health, public relations or an equivalent field
  • At least five years of experience in communication, journalism or public relations
  • Strong French writing ability
  • Mastery of social media and graphic tools

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in a national or international organisation or in public health
  • Photography, video and basic editing skills
