Job Description
IFRC seeks a Purchasing Assistant in Caracas to support procurement of goods and services for its Venezuela delegation. The post manages purchase requests and quotations, supplier follow-up, comparative analyses, orders, deliveries and procurement records, helping programs meet IFRC policy, compliance, traceability and anti-fraud requirements during an emergency response.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Receive, review and follow up purchase requests for specifications, quantities, approvals and supporting documents
- Manage quotation requests and supplier offers under IFRC procurement procedures and thresholds
- Prepare comparative tables and procurement files for review and approval
- Issue and follow up purchase orders and contracts with suppliers
- Monitor procurement progress and deliveries, escalating risks, delays and incidents
- Maintain current procurement and supplier records to ensure traceability of each process
Role Requirements
- University or professional degree in administration, logistics or a related field
- Minimum two years of professional experience in a procurement and logistics department
- Knowledge of computer systems including accounting software and Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical, organizational, document-management and communication skills
Desired Criteria
- Humanitarian field experience is preferred
- Experience preparing comparative tables and procurement documentation is preferred
- Experience with compliance- and audit-based procurement procedures is preferred
- Knowledge of IFRC humanitarian context and ERP or procurement-management platforms is preferred
