Job Description

Supports IOM as one of two online volunteers assessing migration mainstreaming in EU investment and sustainability-reporting frameworks. The assignment agrees a research methodology, reviews 1,150 documents, codes findings in an Excel database, analyses patterns and gaps, and produces an analytical report and presentation on migration in investment performance and social sustainability.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Agree the scope, research questions, methodology and analytical parameters
  • Identify, review and compile relevant credible documents and sources
  • Conduct desk research assessing migration-related considerations across reviewed documents
  • Develop and maintain an Excel database that summarises findings against analytical criteria
  • Analyse the prevalence, depth and types of migration mainstreaming and identify gaps
  • Prepare a concise analytical report on findings and how migration is incorporated into assessments
  • Prepare a presentation summarising methodology, key findings and implications

Role Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in desk research, qualitative analysis or policy analysis
  • Excellent written English and ability to synthesise complex information clearly and concisely
  • Experience using Excel or similar tools to organise, code and analyse qualitative data
  • Ability to apply an agreed analytical framework consistently across a high volume of information

Desired Criteria

  • Familiarity with migration, labour mobility, business and human rights, sustainability, responsible business conduct or investment-related issues
  • Previous experience with EU policies, sustainability reporting frameworks or international organisations
