Job Description
This role contributes to the conceptual design and performance assessment of a potential future CERN collider. It develops and optimises beam optics, performs beam-dynamics and particle-tracking simulations across the machine’s energy range, and investigates effects such as beam-beam interactions, synchrotron radiation and impedance to improve operational robustness.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Contribute to the conceptual design and assessment of a potential future collider
- Optimise linear and nonlinear collider beam optics through tune scans and dynamic-aperture optimisation
- Perform particle-tracking studies across the operating energy range including beam-beam interactions, synchrotron radiation and impedance
- Investigate accelerator-physics challenges for the collider using experience from the FCC-ee study
Role Requirements
- Master's degree with two to six years of professional experience since graduation, or a PhD with no more than three years of professional experience since graduation
- Nationality of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State
- No previous CERN fellow or graduate contract
- Spoken and written English with a commitment to learn French
