Because many local offices serve several Eastern Caribbean countries, read the stated duty station, travel expectations, nationality conditions and contract type before judging a role as purely Barbados-based.
1Use the employer’s official vacancy channel
Follow the vacancy from IGOJobs to the named employer’s system. UN Secretariat roles use UN Careers/Inspira; UNDP, UNICEF, UN Women, WFP, IOM and FAO use their own systems. 2Build the correct online profile

Employer-sponsored work permits and special agreements
Non-nationals working in Barbados must register with Immigration before employment. The employer or sponsor applies: short-term permits run up to 11 months; long-term permits run up to three years and require evidence that no resident or Barbadian national can fill the post.
